I believe I promised this post yesterday, but I’m in the middle of flying back from New Zealand and got my dates mixed up. I’ll be grateful to be back on a normal schedule soon… but also, I’ve definitely been browsing the New Zealand immigration website. Currently, we’re sitting in the Brisbane, Australia airport with two new boomerangs. It just seemed like a good idea at the time.
This is also the end of the blog’s holiday break! I have a lot of great things planned for 2020, including a travel guide to New Zealand’s wine and adventures. The first installment will be up Monday–be on the lookout! Until then, I’m here to share some things I’m looking forward to as we head into January.
Little Women // Somehow, I haven’t seen this movie yet, BUT OH, HOW I NEED IT IN MY LIFE!!!! Little Women is one of my favorite books and the movie version with Winona Ryder has been a repeat watch for ages. This newest version also has my new girl crush, Florence Pugh of Midsommer fame. Greta Gerwig’s interpretation is getting killer reviews. I’ll be going this weekend and will just watch the trailer on repeat until then.
Shuffle the Truffles at 868 // The truffle tasting at 868 Estate Vineyards is one of my very favorites and now it’s letting visitors pick the new lineup. Visit any weekend in January for an $18 tasting featuring some seriously delicious homemade truffles. You can vote for your favorites and be entered for some prizes–like a years worth of chocolate!
National Rubber Ducky Day // Okay. This is a bit of an odd one and I recognize that. But if by any chance you’re near Gordonsville, VA on January 13, swing by Horton Vineyards. In celebration of National Rubber Ducky Day, there will be a giant inflatable duck, free rubber duckies, and various other fun treats. Sometimes, January can be a little sparse on the whimsy, so this might just be the event to jumpstart your winter!
